Types of Recognition
There are different types of recognition in the program. The table below explains when to use each type:
Social –
- To recognize everyday behaviors
- To say “thanks” for a great effort or a job well done
- To encourage the behaviors/efforts that lead to results
Points –
- To recognize results/outcomes
- To connect the results to the organization’s success
- To align employees to company values and encourage the results to be repeated
Boost –
- Director level and above leaders will see a Boost button under all recognitions that you can click to show your support and give an additional amount of points. Due to the points-based nature of this tool, it is only accessible to members who can give points and have points left to award.

Recognition is the first step to acknowledging a job well done and while it can give your peers that warm feeling in the moment, the long-term effects can influence how they feel about the work they do and how they fit into the bigger picture at Medline.
