Workday is coming to Medline!
This summer, we’re transitioning our U.S. and Mexico HR systems, as well as our U.S. Payroll system, to Workday. Look forward to mobile access and streamlined workflows for everything from recruiting and onboarding to talent management and learning.
Your workday simplified
Workday is a cloud-based technology platform that will serve as a central resource for HR and Payroll business processes.
Workday is mobile-friendly so you'll be able to complete HR and Payroll-related tasks from your mobile device when you're on-the-go. Automated workflows and notifications will help keep processes on track.
Employees will have access to onboarding tasks, goal setting, self-evaluations and more. Managers will be able to access customized team dashboards, initiate new hire requests, and run HR reports.
Training and Support
Prior to the Workday launch this summer, comprehensive training will be provided to employees, managers and HR to ensure a smooth transition to the new system. Step-by-step guides and other resources will also be available. Each department, division and location will have dedicated Workday Change Champions to provide hands-on support and guidance.
We will share more information about Workday over the next several months leading up to the summer launch. Take a look at the Q&A below to learn more about Workday and what's next.
We’re looking forward to smoother everyday HR and Payroll tasks ahead with Workday!
Q&A
What is Workday?
Workday is an HR and Payroll management application designed to simplify processes such as hiring, employee onboarding, learning, talent management, performance evaluations, operational reporting and payroll.
Why is Medline moving to Workday?
As a company of 38,000 employees globally and growing, it’s more important than ever that we adapt our systems and build consistency into how we work. Instead of relying on manual or inconsistent processes across the organization, Workday will provide streamlined, automated workflows that drive our business forward.
Why is Workday unique?
Workday will help modernize how we work by providing Medline with a simple, user-friendly destination for HR and Payroll processes that today are manual and vary by location and function. Workday offers an adaptable system that can grow along with us.
When is Workday launching?
Workday will go-live for Medline U.S. and Mexico in summer 2024. Additional Medline regions will move to Workday in the future.
How will I access Workday?
There will be several ways to conveniently access Workday. Office and sales employees will access Workday through a link on The Source or by using the mobile app. Field employees will access Workday using on-site computer kiosks at their location or by using the mobile app.
What is moving to Workday?
Workday will be the core technology for a number of processes that are currently supported through different systems. Several systems we that we currently use will transition to Workday, for example, Taleo and PeopleSoft.
- Employees will use Workday for onboarding, goal setting, self-evaluations, learning and education, personal information updates, and U.S Payroll.
- Leader and Manager processes moving to Workday include recruiting and hiring, onboarding, compensation management, talent management & succession planning, performance management and HR operational reporting.
What is not moving to Workday?
U.S. timekeeping (Kronos), U.S. benefits administration (MyMedLife, Vanguard), and certain learning platforms.
What type of support will be provided?
- Training: Comprehensive Workday training tailored to Employees, Managers and HR will take place between May - June. The training modules will also be available after training as a reference and to help reinforce training prior to go-live.
- Change Champion Network: The Workday Change Champion Network is made up of employees from each department, division, and location in the U.S. and Mexico. Change Champions will serve as a go-to resource for their team throughout the Workday rollout. They will have extensive knowledge of the Workday platform and can help answer questions, guide you to resources and make sure you get the support you need.
- Quick Reference Guides: All core business processes in Workday will be supported with a Quick Reference Guide, a detailed step-by-step outline of the process. These will help bridge the gap from training to using Workday.
